Verna attended the public schools of Camp County and was a graduate of Center Point School. As a girl, Verna attended the Center Point Baptist Church, where she was baptized. Later in life, Verna moved to Oakland, California and joined the Bible Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a proud and faithful member for over 70 years. Mrs. Lorene Moore was born June 30, 1934 to the parentage of Mr. Joe Burns and Mrs. Willie Mae Harkey Burns in Leesburg, Texas. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and was a member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church in Pittsburg, Texas. She was once married to Mr. Walter Moore, whom preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Assistance League of Norman for many years. She especially loved serving as chair for Norman's May Fair Arts Festival. Her kindness was extended by helping those in need and supporting the educational pursuits of those around her. Sharon was also a long-time member of McFarlin United Methodist Church. Carl F. Ray was born on September 28, 1937, to Arthur Lee and Bessie Ray in Gilmer Texas.

Oma attended Garfield Elementary School in the Faker Community. After finishing the seventh grade, she walked eight miles one way to Frederick Douglas High School to further her education where she graduated in May of 1940.
